Yeah, you’ve seen the news about Daniel Brusilovsky (formerly of Techcrunch.com), and founder of Teens in Tech. And, you’d expect a blog like ours (run by teens) to be either in defense or dismissive of Daniel’s actions.
We don’t want to be either, because we know that an opinion on such a matter is never usually the right one. So, we choose not to make comment on the news. However, we would like to set out how Tomorrow’s Web will be adding it’s own code of ethics to help ensure you know exactly what is going on.
Tomorrow’s Web is a teen-run organization, founded by Grant Bell. We are striving on this blog to create a compelling and useful resource for teens in technology and entrepreneurship which can inspire and motivate others.
As editor of this blog, I feel it’s important to make clear that I will not personally tolerate any “behind the scenes” action in return for a favorable post on the blog. It’s incomprehensible to even believe that such an action will stand, and my writers need to be aware of this matter!
I have spoken briefly with Grant Bell about this matter, and in the next few days we will be putting together a written pledge to provide guarantee that we follow strong, moral ethics when it comes to reporting news and writing about web companies.
One thing I can say right now (personally!) is that I support Daniel Brusilovksy as an entrepreneur. His actions on an influential blog such as Techcrunch have damaged his reputation, but we choose not to “pick sides” or declare our opinion. We are impartial and will always view all sides as equal.
In light of Grant Bell’s appearance at “Teens in Tech Conference” tomorrow, I would also like to add that this post was not written in favor of the event, and Daniel has not asked us to make this post for him!
This is simply our opinion (one blog), you may have another and we will fully respect it.
That’s all we have to add to this matter.
